Joshua Tree National Park

The Sonoran and the Mojave Deserts converge at this 792,510-acre expanse, creating this breathtaking haven for adventurers also known as the Joshua Tree National Park. Here, adventurers can trek through an enchanting landscape filled with unique rock formations and a strange-yet-charming forest of Joshua Trees.

The Indian Canyons

Hikers looking to embark on an unforgettable desert adventure can head to the Indian Canyons, which features over 100 miles of stunning desert scenery with rocky gorges, skirted palms, vast landscapes, and panoramic vistas. Three different routes are available: the Palm Canyon, Andreas Canyon, and Murray Canyon – yet it really doesn’t matter which of these you choose, as each route is sure to provide any nature lover with a very memorable experience.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Hop aboard the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and get to see the gorgeous desert landscape from more than 8,500 feet. Your aerial journey starts at the Valley Station, which has an elevation of more than 2,600 feet. The ascent will take around ten minutes, before you reach the 8,500-foot-high Mountain Station.

The best part? You get to soak in 360 degrees of incredible scenery, as the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway features rotating tramcars.

Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area

Nestled along the foothills of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains, the Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area is a 710-acre park that’s a must-visit attraction for anyone who loves the outdoors. The park features more than 90 individual and group campsites, a 135-acre lake, a picnic and barbeque area, and a network of hiking and horseback trails.
